Top types of Turkish Baklava

1. Antep Baklava: Hailing from the vibrant city of Gaziantep, Antep Baklava is a true masterpiece. Known for its exceptionally thin layers of phyllo dough and generous layers of crushed pistachios, it's a symphony of textures and flavors. Where to find the best Baklava?

If you would ask the Turkish locals about the best place to get Baklaba, most of them will direct you to the city of Gaziantep, which is where probably the best Baklava in the world is found. However, not a lot of people have the ability to go to southern Turkey just to try the best Baklava, especially since there are almost as good alternatives in Istanbul. It is true that most Baklava places are pretty good, But a few places stand out from the rest like these two:

Karaköy Güllüoğlu - Nadir Güllü

This place is one of the oldest Baklava places in Istanbul, They only have one branch (as of writing this) located in Karaköy, right in the center of the city by the Bosphorus. They have opened their new place recently which can receive more people and is more elegant than the old place. They are very famous for their Havuç Dilimi Baklava (Carrot Slice Baklava) but also anything else is just as good. It is recommended to try their Havuç Dilimi Baklava with kaymak (creamy dairy), it is so good.

Prices can be a bit high compared to other places, but their Baklava is also better at this place compared to others.

Note: they also sell in KGs, so if you want to take some Baklaba as a gift, you can take in KGs and ask them to wrap it for you as a travel package.
